Cool as a Cucumber- FOTD & Tutorial

Hello loves!  Today I am showing a look that I created with the WnW eyeshadow trios that I picked up earlier this month.  I picked Cool as a Cucumber because I liked the deep purple color in this trio.  I usually don't wear greens on my lids, even though it's supposed to bring out my natural brown eye color. This was a first for me.  I must say, though, that I rather like this look.  :)

Here is the completed look.  I didn't use the colors as suggested in the trio.  I thought that it might be too hard for me to pull off that look.  Instead I used the light green highlight color near my inner tear duct area and blended that with the green color on my lids. I did use the purple color with a light hand as a crease color. I also used a white/cream highlight color not from the trio, my Max Factor eye shadow single in BFF.
Here is a tutorial that I created if you are interested in getting this look.
Tutorial:
1.  Prep eyes with primer.  I used UDPP
2.  Take the eyelid color and sweep all over lower lid.  Leave tear duct area free of color.
3. Take the light green browbone color and sweep into the inner tear duct area. Blend into the dark green color.
4.  With a crease brush, take the purple crease color and blend into the outer V and into your crease.  (I don't have a 'crease' persay, but I blended it into where my eye socket is.)
5.  At this time, go back and intensify any colors if needed.
6.  Blend.
7.  Take a cream/white highlight color and place it under the brown bone.  Blend into the purple.
*I used Max Factor BFF.  This is my favorite color to highlight with.  It isn't really matte and it isn't really a shimmer, but a happy medium in between these two finishes.
8.  Step back and take a look.  Go back over any colors that need to be intensified and blend.
9.  Add liquid liner and mascara.
 10.  Optional-add false lashes.  Mine are from Forever21.

Unfortunately, my camera washes out the colors.  It is really more vibrant in real life.  But, that's it in ten easy steps!

  1. That is so pretty! I can never blend my eyeshadow that well. I guess I have to keep practicing.

  2. Thanks ladies! I'm currently working through all of the ColorIcon trios from WnW that I have collected. I will be updating those throughout the month.

And Sarah-yes, practice makes perfect! I am still learning as I go! :)
