Golden Eyes- Colors from the Naked2 and Lorac Pro Palettes

Hi dolls.  Today, I wanted to share with you this eye shadow look:

I wanted gold on the lids today, so I took out my Lorac Pro palette and my Naked2 to create this look.

The colors I used were:

Half Baked from Naked2-all over lid color

Taupe from Lorac Pro-crease and outer v

Busted from Naked2- deepen outer v color

Cream from Lorac Pro-highlight color

I used a bit of Mac's Fix Plus to make Half Baked more vibrant on the lid.  The gel liner is from Wet 'n Wild's Fergie line, and the lashes are from Sonia Kashuk.

I've been doing the waterproof liners if I'm wearing falsies because I notice that my eyes have been weeping a lot when I wear them and my go to Wet 'n Wild liner just does not hold up when it comes to tears.

Naked2-Shimmery Eyes

Hi dolls.  Here is the eye look that I sported yesterday.  This eye look was created using only the Naked2 palette.

The colors that I used were as follows:

Verve in the inner corner

Suspect center of lid

Tease in outer corner

Busted to deepen outer V color

Foxy as highlight 

And here is a warmer toned picture with the same look:

The lashes are from Sonia Kashuk, and I have been loving these lately.  These aren't as dramatic as the Full Glam lashes, but they are still very pretty and more natural looking for everyday wear.

The liner is Elf's waterproof liner in black and then I went over that liner with my gel liner from Wet n Wild Fergie line.

I loved how bright and wide awake I looked while wearing it yesterday.  It was a nice change up because I had been really into the matte eyes look all of July.

Naked2-Bright Eyes

Hi dolls.  I had the day off today, so I had a chance to play with my makeup.  Here was my eye makeup for today:

I used colors from my Naked2 palette to create this bright, bronzy look.  

I used Half Baked as the all over lid color, then buffed Busted lightly into the outer v and brought that up into the crease.  Then, I took Chopper and patted that right onto the center of the lid for a little more pop of color.  Using Foxy as the highlight color, I then blended everything together before adding liner and lashes.

The false lashes are from Forever21, and I am using L'Oreal's gel liner.

I just finished off the rest of the face with my usual routine, foundation, blush and bronzer.  

The lipstick I'm wearing is Maybelline's Pink Please, which is now discontinued.  

Overall, the eyes were the focus today.   I feel like I have been using the Lorac Pro exclusively for a while, so it was nice to switch it up today.

Urban Decay-Smoked 24/7 Eye Liner Set

Hi dolls.  I have been interested in picking up Urban Decay's 24/7 pencils for a while now, but the hefty price tag always put me off.  The color that I have been eyeing is Perversion, and it costs a total of $18.  That's a lot for a pencil. 

So when I saw this Smoked Set at Ulta, for $27 I had to snap it up.  What a great deal!  I get to try six colors from the UD line, and at a fraction of the price!

I mean, yeah, Perversion is not included in this set, but Zero is and I just mainly wanted to try out the formula than the actual color.

You'll want to note that these pencils are not the full size pencils.  They are minis and do have to be sharpened.  But I know that I hardly ever use pencil liners, in fact, I prefer liquid over anything so these will probably last me quite a while.

Uzi:  Is a charcoal gray pencil with shimmer.  

Zero:  Basic black liner, but not a true black like Perversion.

Demolition:  Coffee brown liner

Smog:  Copper colored with a frost/shimmery finish  

Mainline:  An electric blue

Empire:  Shimmery purple color with blackened base

So you might be asking yourself, if I don't like pencil liners why in the world would I be lusting over these 24/7 liners...it's because lately I have been obsessed with lining my waterline.  I have very watery eyes, and a normal pencil just will not do.  

I have been after the Milani liquifye pencils too, but there isn't a store near me that sells Milani products.  When I go out of town to check, there are never any in stock either.  :(  It just eludes me.

The performance of these pencils is pretty outstanding.  I swatched these pencils on my arm and then wiped them off right away with my makeup wipe-it pretty much stained my arm.  The pencils are very creamy and easy to work with. They don't pull or drag and had great pigmentation.  Uzi and Empire do have a blackened base, so they might take a couple of swipes to get true color payoff.

I have only worn Zero thus far, since this review because I had gotten it in my Oz palette.  Zero does take a few swipes before it becomes black enough for my liking.  I have been using it to line my upper waterline.  I find that it does transfer right away onto my bottom waterline if I don't give it time to set, but once it sets it stays put.  I see myself using Demolition and Zero the most out of these liners.

Urban Decay-Theodora Oz Palette

Hi dolls.  Today I am showing you one of the new palettes released by Urban Decay.  These palettes were created after the Disney Movie, Oz the Great and Powerful.  (I can't wait to see it by the way!)

I picked up the Theodora palette as those colors spoke to me the most.  This palette includes more neutral shades, thus being more wearable for everyday.  The makeup junkie collector that I am though, wants to go back for the Glinda palette too-just to have it.

The packaging is quite gorgeous.  It is a sturdy tin with the UD, Disney logo and movie titled raised on the cover.  I absolutely love it.  It is very travel friendly as it fits rather nicely in the palm of your hand.  These palettes retail for $49 each.

You get six shadows and a 24/7 eye pencil, along with a lip crayon.

The six shadows are beautiful and nothing less than the best.  UD never ceases to amaze me with their quality and packaging.  

You get four full size shadows, one of which is matte and two shadows that have two shades in each pot.  The pots are also made that they can be popped out and other colors substituted in from the UD line, which is very handy and good thinking on their part.  

Below are swatches of all the shadows, going from top to bottom, left to right:  

I swatched these all by themselves on the underside of my arm, with no primer underneath.  The colors are all gorgeous, with beautiful pigmentation.  No disappointment here.

I also swatched the lip color and the liner, Zero, for you while I was at it:

The lip crayon is a bright, vibrant, glossy red.  I found it easy to work with and very creamy.

 

Because it is so creamy though, I noticed some feathering right away when I put it on.  It's hard to be precise with this lip crayon because it is so big.  Getting into the corners and doing the cupid's bow might be tricky if you're not used to it.   Otherwise, it's very pigmented and very flattering.

Also, the 24/7 liner is one of the first liners that I have tried from UD.  I really want to try Perversion, but $18 for one eye liner is a lot of money.  I was kind of glad to be able to try out the formula with Zero, even if it's not very black.  

I did a look with this palette the day I got it, but the pictures didn't turn out so well, so I won't post them.  I will just recreate them for you at a later time this month.  :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi dolls!  Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!  Today is not only Valentine's Day, it's also my husband's birthday, so I created this super sexy, smokey eye.

I used my Naked Basics palette to create this look, using five of the six colors.

I used Naked2, Faint, Crave and Foxy as my highlight color, then added my usual false lashes from Sonia Kashuk.  I used Venus as my inner corner color.

I really liked this look, especially because I tend to shy away from black.  I just need to get more comfortable with it.  Anyways, I just wanted a gradient effect for this look-which I think I did okay on.  (I have been a little out of practice.)

To complete the look, I just added my L'Oreal lipstick in Fairest Nude and stuck to peachy cheeks to play up my eyes.  

Unfortunately, I don't have a hot date tonight with the hub.  He has a night class until 9 pm, and I  teach in the morning.  We are saving the date for Saturday night, because Saturday is our 9th wedding anniversary anyways.  He did send me a beautiful bouquet of roses at work today though.  :)

Urban Decay-Naked Basics Palette

Hi dolls.  I finally picked up the new Urban Decay Basics palette this week.  It's been on my wish list ever since it came out, just because I don't have any really good neutral shadows in my collection.  I also love Urban Decay products-they have never let me down when it comes to shadows. 

 

I'm sure that you have already seen pictures and posts of this palette but I wanted to share my own two cents on it.

First of all, this palette comes with six shadows, two of which are repeats.  Foxy is already a color in the Naked2 palette and WOS (Walk of Shame) is a single shadow that can be purchased from the line.

You wouldn't expect less than the best when it comes to pigmentation and quality in Urban Decay shadows, and these colors are all superb.  Buttery smooth and finely milled, these are not the least bit powdery and feel utterly luxurious on your lids.

Some people have been calling this an all matte shadow palette, but Venus (the shade all the way to the left) has some sheen to it.  It is described as a satin on the packaging.  I don't mind that Venus is included in this palette though, because I think it makes a rather pretty highlight color, especially when you're already wearing all matte shadows on your eyes.  

Others complain that Foxy and WOS are too similar in color on the skin.  I can see why, because when brushed and blended out, they do sheer out some.  In my swatches though, you can see that WOS has just a touch more pink to it than Foxy does.  These two colors also might not show up on fairer skin tones just because they are so light.  

Crave is definitely a new favorite.  I loved how intense it swatched.  I can never find a true matte black shadow and Crave just fits the bill to a tee.  

I also like how compact this product is, it fits nicely into the palm of your hand!  That makes it nice for travel or putting into your purse.  There is also a nice, big mirror included on the top when you flip it open for touch ups. 

This palette is more affordable at just $27, so I didn't feel incredibly guilty when I picked it up.  It is a nice addition to the Naked range, especially if you are a fan of mattes.  

I love Urban Decay products and this palette was not a disappointment.  I would recommend this to anyone who was looking for matte colors to add to their collection or to anyone is a fan of neutrals for that matter.   

On a side note, I am eyeing up the new Wizard of Oz palettes that have just been released!  Are you?!
