Hard Candy-Gummy Green

Hi dolls.  I picked up one of the new polishes from the Hard Candy line at Walmart.   The one I chose was Gummy Green, a mint green jelly polish with black and white circle glitter.

It gives you the look of a jelly sandwich without all of the layering.  I did use three coats to achieve this opacity, and topped it off with one coat of Seche Vite.

The packaging of the new polishes did change, and no longer sport the plastic heart shaped ring on top.  Now it is a simple round bottle with a black lid on top and a sticker stating the name of the polish.  I can say I do appreciate the new slimmer, sleeker design, but it does make seeing the color a bit harder depending on how you store your polishes.

The formula was fine, not too gummy and not too sheer.  There wasn't anything special about the brush too, not something to write home about, but definitely workable.  I didn't have to go fishing for glitter in this polish and it applied smoothly and evenly for me. 

I saw swatches of more of the line on another blog, and I do have in mind another color to add to my collection, but we shall see.  Do you have anything from the newly revamped Hard Candy line yet?

Hard Candy- Glow All the Way

This was purchased at Walmart a while ago, but I haven't had a chance to review it til now.  This is Hard Candy's body and face luminizer in Dollface, the pink version.  I finally nabbed a bottle that wasn't open at Walmart.

 The color is definitely buildable.  See below. 

I have heard that some people like to mix a little bit of this with their liquid foundation for a little extra glow.  I might try that, but not for an every day look-I will save that for a night out with the girls.  Halloween even.  Other than that, I will probably end up using this as a cheek high light color.  It illuminates very well so you have to use a light hand.  Which means it will probably take me forever to go through this entire bottle. lol.  


An after thought-wouldn't this would be nice to mix into your lotion for use on your legs to offer a nice, sexy glow?

Hard Candy- Hide & Glow Cheek!

This Hard Candy cheek tint duo was purchased by me at Walmart for $6.  Let me just say, that I hate buying cosmetics at my local Walmart.  Everything is always opened and swatched and used.  How annoying.  Anyways, I always make sure to buy things that are packaged and sealed if I do end up really liking something.  

So I picked #315, In Love because I thought it would work best with my skin tone, though there were two other color combos also available for purchase.

These initially felt waxy when I was trying to swatch them on my arm, but after a couple of swipes, the color melted onto my skin.  Of these two colors, I thought that I would like the top color the best.  The bottom color is sheerer and can be used as a highlight on the top of the cheekbone.

I was hoping that this would leave a just pinched, flushed look on my cheeks.  I was wrong.  Blended out onto my cheeks the color just disappeared.  It also felt very waxy and was hard to blend. So sad.:(

This is my first purchase from the Hard Candy line.  I mulled over the display for a while but there was so much glitter in everything.  I mean, I like glitter, but not all over my face.  (I much prefer it on my nails-haha)  I was standing there debating between their baked blush or this blush duo.  I choose this cream blush because I wanted something that I can wear to the pool this summer that is light and not too out there, but I will probably go back for the baked blush sooner or later.
