Couponing at Target

I tried some extreme couponing today at Target.  Saved a little bit of money but not as much as I would have liked. lol.  Here are some of the products I got through couponing.

First off are the Nivea products.  I had a coupon for $2 off a Nivea Men's body wash, so I picked one out for the hub.  The body wash was priced at $3.49 at Target.  Therefore, I only paid $1.49 for the body wash.  I got three lotions from Nivea by stacking Target coupons with manufacturer coupons.  I picked out Nivea's Sun Kissed Radiant Skin lotion which was priced at $7.69.  I wanted to try this lotion because it is a gradual tanner lotion like the Jergens ones.  I had a manufacturer coupon for $2 off and a Target coupon for $1 off.  This brought it down to $4.69. 

Then I purchased the Nivea Happy Sensation lotion.  This lotion was priced at $5.04 but I stacked my manufacture coupon for $2 off and my Target coupon for $1 off so I only paid $2.04 for this one.

Also got the Nivea Express Hydration lotion.  This was priced at $5.04 also, but I stacked my Target coupon for $1 off and manufacture coupon for $3 off so I paid $1.04 for this one.  

Next, I had some Sonia Kashuk coupons that I printed from the Target website.  These were for $1 off any Sonia Kashuk cosmetics item.  I picked out another set of the full glam lashes for $4.99 minus the $1 off coupon to equal $3.99.  I also got a new limited edition kabuki brush that was on clearance for $6.48.  I got it for $5.48 with the $1 off coupon.  

I needed more conditioner, so I headed over to the Pantene displays.  I picked out two conditioners so that I could use my manufacture coupon for $1 off any two products and stack it with my Target coupon for $1 off.  These were priced at $3.50 each, but in the end I only paid $1.50 for one of the conditioners.

Next I bought two sticks of Secret deodorant which were priced at $3.99 each.  I had a manufacture coupon which allowed me to pick out one body spray for free upon purchasing two Secret deodorants.  I also had a Target coupon for $2 off so I only paid $5.98 for these three products in the end.

Some of my Sally Hansen coupons were going to expire at the end of this month so I picked out some things.  This manufacturer coupon was for $2 off any Sally Hansen nail repair product upon purchase of any Sally Hansen nail polish.  I picked out this polish from the Xtreme wear collection.  This is Rockstar Pink, a glitter nail polish which priced at $2.54.  I picked out this Hard as Nails product which retailed for $2.69, but I got at just .69 cents after the coupon.

 I need something to store all this makeup in. lol. Hub is putting this together for me tomorrow so I will take a picture of it as soon as it's up.  $30

St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for $3 for me to try

I had spent about $125 total but after coupons, my total came down to around $89.  (I had  also picked out more items that are not shown)  So not really extreme couponing, but it's kind of a start, right? :)

Timeless Skin

I found this St. Ive's facial scrub at the Dollar Tree and I picked it up out of curiosity.  It is a daily microderm-abrasion scrub designed to reveal "younger looking refined skin" with fine mineral crystals that are mixed into the product.  I really like to use scrubs that exfoliate at the same time but haven't really been having much luck with my Proactive scrub lately so I was wondering if this product could do something for me.

This product comes in a squeeze tube and dispenses in an almost gel-like form.  This is also made with 100% natural exfoliants so it is gentle enough for daily use. 

I only used about dime sized amount to wash my face and this was more than sufficient.  I wet my face first and then massaged this product onto my skin.  I could immediately feel the tiny crystals through the gel and worked them into my skin with my fingertips to really exfoliate and slough off any dead skin.  (For comparison purposes-if you have used Proactive cleanser before, this one has even tinier particles than that.)  I massaged with my fingers for about thirty seconds before rinsing everything off with warm water.  After drying my skin, it felt very clean and soft.  But...

I find that the first time I use any cleanser is where I usually get the best results.  If I decide to continue to use that cleanser, it no longer leaves my skin squeaky clean.  Is it because my skin gets used to it?  I don't know.  I have finicky skin.  Always have.  *sigh*  I do try to alternate between my Proactive wash and my other St. Ive's warming scrub every other day though.  (See my St. Ive's warming scrub review here.)  

Also, would you believe that I have never used St. Ive's Apricot Scrub yet?  I have heard that the ground up apricot pits can actually cut into your skin so I have been hesitant to pick it up.  But I have also read reviews that this is great as a body scrub because it exfoliates so well.  What do you think?  Is it worth my time to pick this product up?

My Fave Dollar Tree Products

One of my favorite places to go when I want really good deals is the Dollar Tree.  Sometimes I find some really good beauty products that I can not find anywhere else.  I picked up some MAX Factor eye shadows there once.  That was a great find.  And sometimes they carry Elf cosmetics.  Selection is pretty limited though.  You really have to comb through the other cheapie makeup, and sometimes you leave with nothing.  

For about a month, the Dollar Tree had these lashes stocked and I picked up a bunch of boxes.  The lashes in the black boxes are the ones from the Dollar Tree:

These lashes are super dramatic and really long.  I used to only wear Modella and Ardell lashes until I found these.  I like them a lot, especially the price. :)

 I also like to pick up cotton rounds from the Dollar Tree.  Why pay $2 or $3 for cotton rounds elsewhere when you can buy them for $1?  I always keep these stocked in my bathroom.  I like using these better than cotton balls.  I use these to apply toner to my face after I shower every night.  I also use cotton rounds to remove glitter nail polish with the tinfoil method.

I also like to wash my face with these micro-fiber cloths instead of regular cotton wash cloths.  These feel nicer on my skin and I like how I can air dry them without the wet musty smell that cotton wash cloths can carry.  At the end of every week, I just throw this into the wash when I am washing all of my other towels.  Because the cloth is micro-fiber, I like how it also exfoliates your skin while you are using it.  I have gone through three of these already.  Throw them out when the cloth gets rough and dry.  I really recommend this product. 

I also noticed this product next to the microfiber cloths when I went today:

I thought that these would be nice to use in the shower.  As you can see, the scrubber is double sided. One side of the scrubber is microfiber and the other is textured.  How cool.  I threw one of the three scrubbers into my travel bag and one in my shower right away.  I used this while I was in the shower and I was surprised at how much makeup was still left on my skin after I scrubbed my face with my Proactive cleanser.  It's so great to see results right away when using a new product!  Also, I'm not wasting any of this product because I can just throw it into the wash at the end of the week and reuse it, unlike my Neutrogena Wave pads, where you have to throw them out after every use and repurchase the pads when you run out. :(  

I also picked up this travel size St. Ive's warming facial scrub while I was there today:

I used it this morning and I actually really like it!  To use it, wet your face first.  Squeeze a small amount onto fingers and gently massage into skin.  I felt an immediate warming sensation when the product was on my face but it dissipated too soon.  I don't know if I didn't have enough water on my face for it to thoroughly warm through.  I liked how the product has tons of tiny micro-beads and the cream is so rich, it feels amazing on your skin.  I can really feel it exfoliating my skin and working it's magic!  It left my skin so baby smooth after I rinsed my face.  I definitely have to go back for more of this product- one to keep in my shower!

I love browsing through the travel size bath and beauty products to find great deals.  It is such a great way to sample different brands and find new loves.  I usually buy things from that section throw into my purse like hand sanitizer, tweezers, nail filers, etc.  I have found some of my favorite obsessions by browsing through these sections.  Love finding great deals. :)
