Rimmel London-Kate Moss Lipstick #01

Hey dolls!  I found it!  I found it!  I finally found the lippie that I wanted from the Rimmel Kate Moss collection and nearly did a cartwheel down the store aisle when I did. lol.
Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick in #01
This lipstick and the #08 are the only colors I wanted from this particular line so I'm glad that I was able to hunt this lipstick down.

And here are the swatches of this lovely color:
 Swatched on back of hand:
I love, love, love this red lipstick!  How beautiful is that color?  The packaging is sleek and etched with Kate Moss's autograph, so pulling this out to reapply makes it worth while.  This lipstick is also lightly scented in vanilla.

I also love how this lipstick looks like after blotted with a tissue.  It stains your lips a less vibrant red, but still a lovely color.
Did you pick up anything from the Kate Moss collection?  Let me know!

Nail Polish Hauling

Hello loves.  I'm back again with another haul post.  This one consists of all the new polishes that I have picked up this month.

Ready? Set?  Go!

I picked up four glitter bombs from Klean Color at just $2.50 each.  I had to thin out all of these with thinner before I could use them but still-bar glitter!  holo!  diamond glitter! star glitter! I love how unique each of these polishes are.
I know that I had sworn off of these Wet 'n Wild polishes, but I found an entire display of the Spring Collection while at Kmart and couldn't resist.
I bought all creme finishes and I am loving the mint green one.  These were buy one get one half off when I got them, but won't break the bank at just $1.99 each.

Went to my first ever CVS while in MN because I forgot to pack makeup wipes on my trip.  While I was there, I couldn't help walking by the polishes and these caught my eye.
I can't wait to pair Belle of the Ball with my Klean Color polish in Starry Night. :)

I always make it a point to stop in the Sanrio store at the MOA.  I found this Hello Kitty polish and couldn't put it back down.
Truthfully, it was the packaging that got me.  This is a milky pink color, perfect for those french manicures that I always want to do.

Also popped into the Icing and got two more glitter polishes.
Seriously?  Fragmented glitter!?  So awesome.  I picked up the finer glitter polish as well because it would make a great layering polish for the fragmented glitter.

*whew!*  That was a lot.  Don't judge. lol.  I know I have a problem.  As always, you can see these featured on upcoming posts.  :)

Tokidoki Pittura Brush Set - Review

Hey dolls.   I was in Sephora's last month and I picked up this cute brush set from Tokidoki.  This set comes with one crease brush, one liner brush and one eye shadow brush.  This was around $35 at Sephora.
The packaging is so cute!  Even the plastic packaging is too cute to throw away, so I'm keeping it to hold the brushes because they are rather bulky.

Here is an up close look at the brushes.  I like how the brushes are tinted a coordinating color, but I hope that they don't bleed when upon washing.  The bristles are synthetic so they are extra soft.
The length of these brushes is about your standard pen/pencil size.  I do find them to be a little top heavy because of the adorable characters perched on top but this does not bother me.  This set includes the following characters:
  • Mozzarella (cow hood)
  • Adios Amigos (skull face)
  •  Donutella (little girl)
A definite flaw with these brushes is storage.  They are too cute to be placed in a cup and not displayed, but storing them on their heads means destroying and dirtying the paint on the characters.   If I decide to do away with the plastic packaging, I would have to lay these down in order to store them, like I already do with my dual ended brushes.
Here is the eye shadow brush.  I think that I will use this brush the most.  I love fluffy eye shadow brushes that I can use to quickly sweep on one all over lid color.
The eye liner brush is what I use the least.  If I were to use it, I would use this probably with a gel liner or with my brows.  Maybe.  I'm not sure I'll find a lot of use for this.
This is the crease brush.  This one I would also probably use on a daily basis as well.  I find that these brushes are perfect for placing a highlight color right under my brow and then blending out with an all over lid color.

Final Thoughts

Pros:
  • Cute packaging
  • Synthetic bristles
  • Soft bristles
  • Doesn't shed
  • Affordable
Cons:
  • White bristles can stain & hard to completely clean
  • Top heavy brushes
  • Bulky brush makes storage a challenge
  • Plastic wrapped character design on handle can peel off
Repurchase?  Yes, I think that I would.  I was deciding between the kabuki brush or this set, and I think that I will definitely pick up more from this line if given the chance.  The packaging is a plus-I love all things kawaii.
What do you think?  Are you a fan of Tokidoki products?

MAC Haul

Hey dolls.  I started student teaching this week so I have been extremely busy.  I haven't had any spare time to take pictures of all of the things that have accumulated over these past couple of days, so I thought I would just do a collective post on them.
This particular post is dedicated to my latest MAC haul.  I was debating on ordering online but since I was in MN anyways last weekend, I stopped at the MAC store while at the MOA.  Here are the goodies I got:
I picked up a custom 4-eye shadow pan, 1 blush and 1 lipstick.  I was pretty good while I was there.  Plus, they were extra busy so I just nabbed the things that I really wanted.

Here is the custom eye-shadow palette that I made and purchased:
I picked up Rice Paper, Patina, Sable and Club.  These colors are all right up my alley and Club has been on my wish list for a long time.
 Rice Paper & Patina:
 Sable & Club:
These are gorgeous colors and I'm glad I got them.  Below are swatches of each color:
Swatches: Rice Paper, Patina, Sable, Club
 Swatch: Club
I included another swatch of Club because of the iridescent green shimmer that comes through.  Gorgeous, right?  I love shadows like this-and it reminds me of one of the colors from my Wet 'n Wild Comfort Zone palette.  Will do swatches of both to compare soon.

Also, this is my personal opinion, but I think that if you're going to invest in higher end products, it's best to start with colors that you will love and use over and over again.  It's easy to go straight for the limited edition coral lipstick or the bright glittery pink eye shadow, but seriously? -How often will you wear it?  *shrugs* Just my two cents.

Anyways, I also picked up Dollymix.  This has also been on my wish list for a while, and my first MAC blush.
This is such a pretty color.  I can see myself wearing this a lot in the spring and summer.  Love!
Swatch: Dollymix
Lastly, I got the red lipstick that I have been lemming for-Ruby Woo.  I need a matte red lipstick-all of the reds that I have are creme finishes. :)

Here it is on my lips and swatched on my hand:

Then, I went to the CCO while at Wisconsin Dells and nabbed three MAC shadow singles as well at just $10.25 each.
First up is Show Stopper.  This is a matte, dark brown.  I bought it originally to wear in the crease, but I have read on Makeup Alley that a lot of people use this on their eyebrows as well.
This is Phloof!, a beautiful pearly color.  Perfect to put in the inner corners.  This is part of the MAC core collection, so finding it at the CCO was a steal.
Next is Smoke & Diamonds.  This was a limited edition shadow and much coveted by beauty bloggers.  I love that I was able to find it!
This is a beautiful taupe color and just screams ME.  Love!

Here are swatches of the shadows.  These are all swatched dry and with no primer underneath.
Swatches:  Phloof!, Smoke & Diamonds, Show Stopper
Can't wait to play with all of these colors!  What are your favorite products from MAC?

Love,
