Sinful Colors- Luminary

Hello there dolls.  Here is another new color from Sinful Colors.  This one is called Luminary:
Luminary is an orange/coral polish with tiny glass flecks.  Very pretty in the bottle, but on me, I think it clashes.  :(
I only wore this for a day before taking it all off. Did you pick up anything from this particular collection?

Always,

Sally Hansen-Hard as Nails Party Hard-y PLUS Gradient Nails!

Hello loves.  Here I am wearing Sally Hansen's Party Hard-y from the very affordable Hard as Nails line.
This is three coats on my nails.  It is a nice pink crelly, but it got kinda thick while applying.  Definitely need to add a drop or two of thinner next time. I got bored of the color pretty quickly as it is just another standard pink so I decided to do a gradient nail:
For this look, I took Revlon's TopSpeed color in Peachy and Sinful Color's Pull Over to build the gradient over Party Hard-y. I used the sponging method with a makeup sponge, but I found it left little bits stuck on the nails.  *sigh*  Maybe I'm just using cheap makeup sponges? :/
Oh well.  I tried.  I might experiment with other sponges to see if they work better.  Have you tried the gradient trend yet?

Revlon-Scented Polish in Mint Gelato

Hello there dolls.  Here I am wearing Revlon's scented polish in Mint Gelato.
This is three coats on my nails and topped off with one coat of Seche Vite.  I had some bubbling with this polish-is it because of the warm, humid weather we have been having? Alas, Seche Vite was absolutely necessary in getting rid of them.
The smell...I thought it was very strong at first when I was applying it.  But after I was all through with polishing-my nails smelled like minty, chocolately, Girl-scout cookies.  YUM.

Then, I decided to go with a glitter gradient.  It is my favorite thing to do with minty cremes and blues.
I did two coats of NYC's White Lights Glitter just on the tips.  This I did not bother sponging.  The glitter usually just gets absorbed into the sponge and very little transfers onto the nail.

Then, I took Sally Hansen's White Veil topcoat and did one coat of that over White Lights Glitter.

Have you been trying the gradient trend?  I have been doing glitter gradients for a while now, but with cremes I'm still experimenting. :)

Big Lots-Philosophy Haul

Hey dolls.  I heard about Philosophy products popping up at Big Lots so I went over to check it out today.  Here are the goodies that I snapped up:
These were only $3 each!  What a steal!
I do have to mention though, that your Big Lots might have a slightly different selection than mine does.  I saw that some people found eye shadow quads (*dies*) and I didn't see any at the one I went to.

First up, are the two creme blushes.  Now, I don't really use a whole lot of creme blushes because of my oily skin- but these were just too pretty to pass up.
 Bare Your Soul:

 Swatched under Ottlite:
 Swatched in natural light:
Then I picked up a lip gloss:
 Pretty packaging:
 Lipgloss in Pretty Please:
This is rather sheer on me and I could have done without it.  I also avoid lip balms/glosses where you have to dip your finger into it, but oh-well.

An eye shadow duo:
 Duo in Heaven and  Earth:
 Swatched under Ottlite:
 Swatched in natural light:
 A shimmering face powder:

And lastly, a little palette with cheek, lip and eye colors:
It comes in a lovely pink, leather magnetized case:
Included in the palette are two lip glosses, two shadows, one creme-based illuminator, one cheek color and one hi-lighter:

Swatches from left to right:  TWO eyeshadows in Angel & Dream, Cheek color in Pure Joy, Hi-lighter in Amazing Grace and creme based illuminator:
I didn't bother swatching the lip glosses as they were very sheer anyways wouldn't show up on my arm.

Overall though, the colors are lacking and don't seem quite right for my skin tone.  These colors seem like they would suit a person with fairer/lighter skin tones. I am going to try out the cheek colors though and see how they hold up on me. :)
Love,
