Re-styled

I forgot all about this straw fedora that I had from last year.  I bought it at Target in the dollar section for $2.50 and clipped this faux black flower I had laying around to one side of it to create a whole new look.

I paired this hat with a maxi dress today and minimal makeup.  I also braided a loose braid to the side to keep my hair off of my back and face in this summer heat.
Here is a close up of the makeup:
All eye shadow colors are from my Urban Decay Naked Palette
Jordana Pretty Shine lip gloss in Dazzling
Face: Missha BB cream in Natural Beige
What have you recently re-discovered from your closet?

Maybelline Shine Sensational Pop Stick-Fruit Punch

***UPDATE!***
I am hosting my first blog give away.  Included in my give away are TWO of the new Maybelline Shine Sensational Pop Stick lipsticks in Fruit Punch and Raspberry Ice.  To enter my giveaway click here.  Give away ends on Saturday, August 20th.

Have you seen these on display yet at your local drugstores?  I drove across town to the other Wags and came across these lippies.  I had read about them on Nouveau Cheap's blog here and knew that these would just have to be added to my stash.
I, of course, wanted to grab all of them to try out but I restrained myself and settled on Fruit Punch, #130.
Just look at the juicy jello-y goodness!  Looks almost good enough to eat!  And in a lipstick no less!  By the way, these smell ah-maz-ing.  Very fruity, but nothing too overpowering or overly sugary.

These lipsticks offer a sheer light wash of color on the lips, so if you're looking for pigmentation, look the other way. lol.  The best way to describe these would be like a tinted lip balm, but possibly better.
On lips:  Maybelline Shine Sensational Pop Stick in Fruit Punch
Unfortunately, my camera had a hard time picking up the true to life color on my lips.  It is a little pinker in person.  Once on the lips, this lipstick feels just like a lip balm.  It also applies nicely and very smoothly.  The first swipe on the lips straight from the tube might be a little tricky but once you break the initial seal, it glides like but-tah.

This is one lipstick that you can apply confidently without a mirror. :)

Make sure you enter my give away for a chance to win this lipstick and more.  Scroll back up to the top of the page and click on the hyperlink. Good Luck!

Sweet Sanrio Buys

This is the third time that I have been to China Town in Chicago.  I always make a stop in the cute little corner store that specializes in Sanrio stuff.  Here are the things that I picked up while I was there.

I swear there wasn't any cosmetics the last time I was there, but they had a limited selection this time on the shelves.  I settled on this blush duo because it had such cute packaging and the colors are something that I would wear.  This was only $3.99.
Swatches:  Light pink and Coral color
I also got another Hello Kitty contact case.  Isn't it adorable?  This was $4.99.
I found this Hello Kitty pencil case that I thought could double as an eye shadow brush holder when I'm traveling.  I hate transporting my dirty eye shadow brushes in a silk lined bag because they leave shadow residue all over.  This pencil case would be easy to clean and deep enough to store a couple of my brushes.  This case was $5.99.  In the meantime, though, they are holding a couple of pens I also bought from the store.  :)
