Elf Cream Liners- Swatches & Review

Hey dolls.  I picked up these cream liners from Elf because I had heard so many good things about them.  I am a cream liner virgin believe it or not.  I have been using liquid liners for just about forever, and never thought that I would ever switch it up.

The cardboard packaging is a little bulky for such a small square product.  I think that is one of Elf's big downfalls-the outside packaging can be so deceiving sometimes.  

Anyways, this is what you get once you open up the package.  One mini eye liner and the cream liner.  I bought black and coffee for myself because these are the two colors that I use the most.

I thought that these might be extremely messy and a pain to apply because they were creams, but I was kind of wrong.  I am happy to report that these are a cinch to apply and swatch.  I love how pigmented they are as well.  Very intense color payoff.

These cream liners apply wet but dry to a nice consistency.  They certainly don't budge or flake very easy.  I took my pointer finger and rubbed vigorously against the swatches I just laid down.  Here is what happened:

The black wore off a little bit, but the brown shade stayed put.  I am seriously rethinking my liquid liners now.  eek.  lol. The only thing that I am not a fan of is the brush liner that was included in the box.  I am sure that I have a brush laying around somewhere that I can use though.   

Will I repurchase? Yes.  I would also love to try different colors from this line as well.  This is definitely a great alternative to liquid liners.  I think they might have made a convert out of me. :)

Revlon- Carbonite

Hey friends.  Went over to Big Lots on Friday after school let out for the day.  No big haul this month.  I just picked up some of the essentials- like q-tips and cotton balls.  But I found a whole jar of these Revlon Carbonite polishes for only $1.50.  I had read that these had been surfacing at Big Lots on a couple of blogs this summer, so I'm glad that I was finally able to find it.

I had no problems with this polish, but most importantly, no bubbling. I like how unusual this color is.  Gunmetal?  That's how I would best describe it. Layered on one coat of Seche Vite of course.

Welcome to this month's edition of Currently Obsessed With...

Here is what made the cut:

1.  Cherry Pickers Resale Boutique

 I have been cleaning out my closet and bringing clothes that I don't wear anymore to Cherry Pickers at my local mall.  I heard about them on the radio and was thrilled that they just opened up.  I usually take my stuff over to another consignment shop but they only take seasonal things, only a certain # of items, and they pay you only if your items sell.  Cherry Pickers pays on the spot and you can bring in whatever you like, whatever the season!  (not to mention the cute name of the store!)

2.  Yes 2 Carrots Body Butter

I buy these travel size jars from Target for only $1.99 each.  I love how moisturizing this lotion is and I love the smell.  I keep them all over my house and in my purse to moisturize my hands during the cold winter months.  This jar is almost out so you'll see it featured on my Running on Empty post soon. :)

3. The Holidays!

Usually I don't decorate my house for any Holidays, except Christmas.  Just something about Christmas that gets me in the spirit.  I haven't pulled out the tree yet, but that will probably go up soon.  I purchased these 3 adorable snowmen from Goodwill for only $1.20 each.  The one in the green cap is the hub, the red cap is me, and the blue cap is E.  Our little family, get it? lol. 

4.  Scarves

The weather in Wisconsin can be so unpredictable sometimes, especially in winter.  Once the weather cools down, I pull out all of my scarves.  I love to accessorize with scarves and showcase them with more simplistic outfits.  This particular scarf is from Target and I wore it with a long sleeve black tee, paired with black trousers and black shoes for a day with the kiddos at school.  I just love how one statement accessory can pull everything else together.

Wet 'n Wild Bronzers-Swatches & Review

Hello friends.  I just wanted to show you two bronzers from the Wet 'n Wild collection.  I bought these from Kmart when they had the buy one get one free sale.  I have Princess and Goddess.

These are super soft and very pigmented.  I would recommend these drugstore bronzers any day.  I like how they come in matte and shimmer as well.  Princess contains shimmer and Goddess does not.

Princess gives a soft sun kissed look and is great for highlighting.  Goddess I use as a contour because it is matte.

As you can see from these swatches, these are crazy pigmented.  I hope that you guys all try this brand.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush-Peach Satin

Hey friends.  Picked up this blush from Wags when it got marked down to clearance.  I used to wear this blush a long, long, long, time ago, before I started using mineral powders.  These were my favorite blushes because of how creamy they were and how easy it was to just blend in with my fingertips.  I hope to rediscover my love for them with this recent purchase.

I picked up Peach Satin to try.  The other one I always bought was the plum colored one-but it was already bought out.

I am still very sad that they discontinued the concealer from this line.  I hope the blushes stick around.

Revlon- Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer Review

Hello friends.  I picked up this primer from Walgreens when it went on clearance for under $3.  I have been searching for a primer and the drugstore seemed like the most logical place to start.

 What it claims:

Unfortunately, I didn't like this primer at all.  First of all- it is scented, which I can not stand.  It didn't seem that bad it the tube, but once I used it I could smell it for hours.  I am not even sure how to describe it- its flowery and perfumey but just overall too intense for me.

This formula does not leave the silicone feel that you might be used to.  I think it feels like a little like baby oil, which I fear would make my skin break out if I continue to use it.  There is not an ingredient list included on the labels so I don't know what is all actually in this primer.  There is also not a whole lot of product- .85 fluid oz so it's rather a small tube.  

I am glad that I did not pay full price for this primer.  I had originally bought two tubes but returned one after I swatched this tube.  

Are there any drugstore primers that you would recommend?  I am thinking of trying the Rimmel one next.

Milani Baked Blushes- Swatches & Review

Hello friends.  I have been hoarding these blushes from Milani since summer. lol. 

 First up, is Luminoso.  This is a beautiful peachy-gold color and somewhat of a cult favorite.  A lot of people like this color for highlighting the cheeks.

This is Dolce Pink. My camera makes this blush look more mauve than it really is.  There is shimmery pink and a darker pink veining through it with tons of gold shimmer.

 Lastly is Rose D'Oro.  This is a darker rose-gold color with gold veining running through it.  Also very shimmery.

I also like how there is a hidden mirror included in the compact, along with a little brush for on the go application.
